Why a new distribution mode?
Because the Series 2000 meets all your requirements for reduced installation costs, communications, performance (high capacity) and ease of implementation.
Reduced installation costs
When several islands are needed to be installed together, were you aware that the cost of installing them is closely related to the machine's wiring architecture?
Thanks to a substantial reduction in the number of components such as terminal boards, distribution units, cables, raceways and wiring, both the implementation and the maintenance of our valve islands as a whole become highly cost-effective.
The 2000 series islands consist of a subbase, which includes the electrical and pneumatic valves into which the distributors are plugged ("Plug in" technology).
Efficient, advanced and highly flexible architecture
By using a fieldbus it is very easy to optimise the installation. A single connection on the master island is sufficient for the control engineer to establish:
- Communication from the fieldbus including: PROFIBUS-DP, INTERBUS-S, AS-Interface, DeviceNet, Modbus-IDA, WorldFIP, ControlNet, AB 1771 RIO, and EtherNet/IP.
- A single address for up to 7 islands, which can have different flow rates, thereby taking advantage of optimised PLC memory and network cycle time.
- A capacity of 224 monostable or 112 bistable or dual valves.
- In total: 96 inputs (sensors, pushbuttons etc), 224 digital outputs, these can be digital (including coils) and/or analogue, connected via M12, Sub-D or terminal boards.
Easier commissioning
Thanks to the Manual Configuration Module (MCM), which can be placed anywhere on the master island, the operator can run various tests on all the connected islands on his own without a PC or a PLC.
To make it easier to configure the installation, the MCM allows the bus address to be set with encoder wheels (according to certain protocols).
Several modes are available:
- Testing of all outputs through successive activations (coils and output modules)
- Testing of each digital input activating even or odd outputs
Please note: With a view to minimising downtime, all changes of electronic cards or quick coupler diameter are made via the front panel, without the need to dismantle the island.
